Best Reasons to Marry
Pregnancy, fear of being alone, obligation. These are a few of the reasons that Americans get married. Love is not cherished, and sought after as it was before. But, no matter the reason, getting married is not the key to happiness. Love is. Marriage is an unfair expectation of a relationship. 75% of all military marriages fail. And do you know why. They get married because of obligation. They are given more money, and benefits because of this. That is why they fail. Not because of age or maturity.
I married my wife because I thought I was in love, I realize now that I wasn't. At least not true love, it was puppy love. Over the years my wife and I have been through every emotion good and bad. And I realize now that I am the luckiest man in the world. We took a gamble at marriage, and we are one of the few who are truly in love. The saying "I love you more today that the day I married you", says it perfect. You learn more and more about a person after you have spent time with them. You learn their habits and personality traits. The true test of love is looking past all of the bad, and focusing on the good. This is why divorce rates are so high. Looking for an easy way out, typically leads to unhappiness, infidelity, and loneliness.
There is never a good reason to marry, because much like live, every day will be different. Life, and for that matter fate, is going to change form one day to the next. All a person can do is give everything in their heart to the one they are with and pray that love will keep you together. Let's look at this from another perspective. Let's call it "Downfall of not getting married". You will never know life until you spend it with the person who you love. You will never be alone, or overwhelmed. Life will not be perfect, problems will come up. It is the true test of a person to overcome all adversity, and know that they spent their time on earth not only in love, but also being loved.
Don't look for a reason to marry, because you will also come up with reasons to not marry. Go forth into the unknown, give hope and happiness to the person you love, and from there, and only there, will you find true happiness.
