Best Chocolates for Easter in the UK

From 3arf

We are spoilt for choice, but saying that we all have our likes and dislikes so it is good to have variety.

Thorntons chocolates! They are a special treat for chocolate lovers. They cost that bit more than a box of roses etc but the quality can not be ignored. They do boxes in different sizes and colours and they can contain pralines and soft centres. A favourite would have to be the Eden range I have heard a lot of compliments. They also have a small selection of pick and mix chocolates that contain their white chocolate champagne truffle and a lemon sorbet, well I think it is sorbet. They have a selection of Easter eggs which you can also personalise which is great for children. Their Easter selection also contains chocolate bunnies in white, milk and dark. Thorntons has to be the best loved chocolate in the UK. I believe they have been operating since 1911. Their advert states 'chocolate heaven since 1911' or maybe 1811 but 1911 sounds better.

Lilly'o Brian is a newer brand of chocolate. They do some nice boxes of chocolates and also fudges etc. I have not looked at their Easter range, but even if they do not have one their boxes of chocolates are great.

Hotel Chocolate is another slightly expensive range which is what you would call  special treat. They do boxes and bars and also slabs of chocolate in many flavours and sizes. They do lovely champagne truffles and their own brand of chocolate buttons. These buttons are small but strong in taste.

Of course we also have a wide selection of eggs from companies like Cadburys, Nestle and Kinnerton. Kinnerton is a children's brand and it is free from nuts etc. Cadbury make great small eggs also. These are called Creme Eggs as the inside is a soft fondant.

The many eggs we have are targeted to individuals. Children's eggs are put inside a box that has their favourite cartoons covering it. You can get a range of small eggs like Mars Bar eggs, Caramel eggs, Smartie eggs and a new Lindt Lindor egg which melts in your mouth.

TThere is a lot of variety at both ends of the market. You can get the little eggs for 29p and the most expensive big eggs are £15. Character eggs are about 75p and if you have a good look around you will find some good deals like 2 for £10.00.
