Article Title Job Industries that will Stand the Test of Time
These are tough economic times with high rates of unemployment. People seeking employment would like to find jobs or seek careers that have a future. There are several job industries that will stand the test of time and will continue to hire employees to keep up with the rising demand for their needs. Job industries that will stand the test of time are as follows:
- Health Care
All areas of health care will need more employees in the future because ofaging baby boomers, the largest population of citizens ever, and with the Affordable Health Care Act there will be nearly 35 million more people entering the health care system. This translates to the need for more physicians, medical specialists, surgeons, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, radiological technologists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, medical laboratory technologists, medical and health care system coders. For those wishing to enter any of the medical auxiliary fields, a certified nursing assistant can complete training and certification in one year. It takes six years of college to become a certified physical therapist and seven or more years to become a clinical psychologist.
Geriatrics is going to be the fastest growing field in medicine. There will be great demand for geriatric assistants, nursing home administrators, hospice care, and in-home-nursing aides.
Physician’s Assistants will be in great demand as there will not be enough doctors to take care of the rapidly growing patient population. Many physicians and hospitals utilize Physician’s Assistants to help physicians with demands for medical skills. Physician’s Assistants require two years of experience in another health field and then six years of college to earn a Master’s Degree as a Physician’s Assistant.
- Environmental, Civil, Industrial Engineers and MechanicalEngineers
Environmental Engineers will be needed as the country’s infrastructures are rapidly deteriorating, with outdated water systems and septic lines. With the growing population, environmental engineers oversee new construction, and preserve natural resources which will keep the population safe.
Civil Engineers will be needed to rebuild aging bridges, dams, levees, and interstate highways. Specialties within civil engineering include structural, transportation, and geotechnical engineers.
Industrial Engineers find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes, and find efficient and safer ways to use employees, machines and materials. They look for ways to reduce costs associated with the rapid growth of new technologies.
Mechanical Engineers focus on energy, manufacturing, and design mechanics. They design robotics which are used in a variety of places such as assembly lines in manufacturing or to perform surgeries on humans (da Vinci robots)
