Are Paid Surveys really Worth the Time – No
Are paid surveys really worth the time?
About a year ago having heard of the money that could be made through online paid surveys, I signed up for an account. After a short while I realized that, while what the survey company said was true about the possibility of making money, I was not going to make any soon. So I gave up the dream of "easy" money.
Paid surveys are not worth the time. They are not worth the time for two major reasons. One, and this is the most important reason in my opinion, is that online surveys only accept you on certain criteria. While I do admit you can make money taking surveys, most surveys a person does not qualify to take. The reasons are the these companies, the ones give out the survey are usually looking for specific individuals. It could be people of a certain ethnicity, age group, profession, or economic position. There might even be several criteria you have to met for just one survey. I found that I did not qualify for most of the ones I tried. In the end a great deal, 95 percent of my time was spent trying to find surveys that I was eligible to take. This is in the end is the reason I gave up. I would have been more willing to take surveys for 50 cents to a couple dollars each if I indeed would have been able to take them.
This leads to my second reason, most surveys do not pay very well. Now this could be because I did not qualify to take the higher paying survey, I really do not know. As most surveys do not pay very much, the person taking the survey finds them self spending a lot of time and not getting much out of it. The work ends up being not rewarding. One because of the pay, two because the work is not satisfying, you do not feel like you are accomplishing anything meaningful. I would much rather take a minimum wage job, that I enjoy doing to some degree. At least then I know I will make something, instead of hoping that I will find the surveys that will get me there.
In the end my conclusion that paid surveys are not worth the time is based on my personal experience. Someone else may have had different results, but I am inclined to doubt it. Survey companies would not make very much profit if the really paid out so much for surveys.
