All Wheel Drive Subaru

From 3arf

The Subaru Outback is my choice for a comfortable, affordable and practical all wheel drive vehicle. If it is long distance or a short drive, rain, hail, sleet or snow will not stop this vehicle. It grips the road because all the wheels drive all the time.

I do have to give up towing anything over 1000 pounds and occasionally have my 2005 Subaru loaded with stuff utilizing the roof carrier. The 2010 model can haul 2700 pounds. For additional hauling capacity I bought a light 5 x 8 trailer with 12-inch wheels. This comes in handy when I need to haul a snow blower of a couple of sheets of plywood.

Motor Trend announced that the Outback is the winner of the 2010 sports/utility of the year. Last year Subaru won the same award for it's Forester. In 2009 the Outback was chosen by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety as being the best in crash safety. Subaru prides itself on producing safe vehicles.

One of my favorite features of the Outback is the ride. It is comfortable and quiet. The sound system has 4 speakers with MP3 capacity. I also appreciate the heated seats.

The highway gas mileage is 27 and uses unleaded gas. The engine has 170-horse power. It has plenty of power for hauling the kids and your toys. The turbo option is not for me because it uses premium gas.

The car has plenty of legroom. My 6' 5" friend has owned 3 Subarus, a 1999 Outback, a 2003 Forester and a 2007 Outback. He is comfortable in his new one and misses his old ones. If you need more cargo the Forester offers more space and still gives you safety and reliance.

Subaru is built in the United States. The company prides itself as being a zero landfill factory. I am big on nature and the environment. I raised 2 kids, 2 dogs and a cat with a Subaru to haul us all around. My 24-year-old son is driving my second Subaru a 1999 Outback.

This car and the company reflect my philosophy in life. Leave the smallest footprint on the environment, be safe and experience the best life has to offer. While other rides maybe faster and bigger, Subaru is small and beautiful. My Subaru has driven through 2 feet of water, 4 inches of snow and iced roads without a slip. It has kept me and mine safe to tell this story.
