Acknowledgement to Fathers Day

From 3arf

Father’s day is a celebration of fatherhood, parental bond and its influence in the society. It is a day to acknowledge the importance of fathers and compliments mother’s day. This day is usually celebrated on the third Sunday of June in many countries, while some countries celebrate it on other days.

This celebration was started in early twentieth century to compliment mother’s day, by acknowledging male parenting. typically involves giving gifts, taking fathers to dinners and other family oriented activities. It took a long time to make it an official day, as people accepted this day with great difficulty. It was thought that it is a first step towards filling the calendar with mindless promotion, as local newspapers themselves used to joke around this day’s celebration. Where mother’s day is symbol of respect and emotional bonding, fathers day was often met with laughter and sarcastic remarks.

With the efforts of many this day was accepted and now is celebrated with enthusiasm and pride for male parenthood. Moreover on 19th of November men’s day is also celebrated as recognition to those males and boys who are not fathers yet.

In 1930, The Associate Men’s Wear Retailers formed a committee for father’s day commercialization. Its aim was to promote this day in such a way that compel people to spend on gifts, dinners and shopping. They were succeeded in their aim and now people see this day as a day of celebration. People feel that by giving gifts they can appreciate their fathers for being there and can show their love to them.

Giving gifts and spending time together also helps in bonding between father and children. Fathers are always spending less time with their kids so this can be a way to get closer.kid feel more associated with their parents when they spend good quality time with them.

Therefore father’s day should be celebrated with respect to fathers and their relationship with the kids. Those who mock this celebration should show empathy towards father’s feelings. When mother’s day can be given so much understanding and importance why can’t we take fathers seriously?.There are so many children who are brought up by their fathers only, those who have not seen their mothers, what are we showing them that no matter what your father does for you he can’t be like a mother? We are causing disturbance  and confusion in their little minds. We need to stop this discriminated attitude towards father’s day, it‘s hurting the sentiments of fathers as well as kids. If we show positive attitude to celebrate, to enjoy this day it will become another source of happiness and joy for the families.
