It's almost Fathers' Day and you are looking for the perfect gift for dear old Dad. While there are many choices out there and every store seems to be clamoring for your hard earned dollars, before you buy another tie or grilling apron consider what it is your Dad really enjoys. If he likes to read, the options are unlimited and there is no way you can buy the wrong size or color.

If your father is interested in politics two books that are not only timely, but could help him choose which presidential candidate he will vote for this Fall are "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming The American Dream" by Barack Obama and "Faith of My Fathers: A Family Memoir" by John McCain.

If he has had it with the Bush white house legacy, he might enjoy Scott McClellan's new book "What Happened?" The subtitle is "Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception". Every Bush basher should enjoy this book.

If your Dad loves to travel or simply dreams of traveling, the book "Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the World's Greatest Trips" from the National Geographic society would not only give him ideas for future trips but can also allow him to travel abroad from the comfort of his favorite chair.

If he's more adventurous than that there is "1,000 Places to See in the U.S.A. and Canada Before You Die" by Patricia Schultz. That list should keep him busy for several years.

If sports are more to your Dad's liking there is "The Baseball Book" from Sports Illustrated covering everything from great players of the game to some of the most memorable plays ever made on the diamond.

If your Dad is interested in philanthropy "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin is an excellent choice. This book tells the true story of a mountain climber who fails at reaching the summit of K2 in Pakistan, but by a fluke encounter on his way down ends up building schools for girls in remote regions of Pakistan. This story drives home the point that one person truly can make a difference in the world.

Who isn't a James Bond fan? Sebastian Faulks has a new book out entitled, "Devil May Care", which is a continuation of the James Bond Legacy. This book was written in honor of the centenary of Ian Fleming's birth on May 28, 1908.

"The Road" by Cormac McCarthy is a story about a father and son and their journey through a post apocalyptic landscape set in the future. It's a story about survival and the love between a father and his son.

These are just a few recommendations for books that your father might enjoy receiving as a gift this Fathers' Day.
