A Short History of the new York Car Show
The New York Car Showdebuted in 1900 and has continued on ever since no matter what the state of the economy or political atmosphere may have been. The event became North America’s first auto exhibition and was held throughout the years of the depression, the wars, the various multiple oil crises, throughout the recessions and also during times of growth. People from all over the world have flocked to the event to see the new models that are set to debut as well as the concept vehicles that demonstrate the possibilities that exist for future development.

For exactly one week out of every year New York becomes the epicenter of theautomobile industry, and although there may be bigger and more illustrious car shows held both in the states and abroad this one is important because of the city in which it is held. New York is one of the most important cities on the face of the planet and what is shown here is sure to catch the eye not only of motoring enthusiasts but also artists and social commentators who bring the wonders of the car show home to the population as a whole. Throughout the years cars have inspired art in movies, film, on television, and have found their way into the human psyche and in so many ways are such a large part of the American way of life as they are representative of American freedom.
The most anticipated events at the car show are the unveiling of the new production models that are set to debut and the explanations of the changes that have been made to long time favorites as well as the innovations found amongst the newcomers. Another exciting aspect of the car show is the unveiling of the new concept cars, which are basically test models that show what auto manufacturers are capable of doing and what direction their new vehicle designs are going. Both of these unveilings are held at the World and North American levels and in many cases evoke a sense of rivalry between competing automakers. As one of the most beloved events held in New York the car show is held annually and all ages are welcome.
