Taking Time To Give Thanks
In these uncertain economic times, people are overwhelmed with the pressures of the world. It is time to take time out and reflect on what is important. Close family and friends are important because they will always be there for you no matter the outcomes in life. Life is full of choices and it is up to you to make the right choices. Careful planning and making the right decisions are the key to having a successful event such as a Thanksgiving Dinner.
Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holiday meals (www.holiday.net). We know that food is not cheap these days which is why many people are involving friends and family in there planning. You don't have to do everything all by yourself. Having family and friends involved with the planning process is a great idea. I don't think back then (three thousand years ago) that one family did all the cooking. It included cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, and the list goes on. Delegating is a great idea, says one mother. She didn't have to loose sleep over the entire process of planning. It saves time and energy as well as money to involve everyone. Technology makes it even easier to communicate with everyone in the form of an email, text or a phone call via cell phone to get instant updates of tasks and progress of everyone who are responsible for a task. You don't know the outcome until you make the decision to do careful planning. Everyone can bring a favorite dish. Don't sweat the small stuff. Other ways of saving time and money is by shopping for deals in the form of sales and using coupons. When shopping for gifts and decorations it is helpful to buy gifts on sale as well as visiting garage sales for decorations. A family might be moving and decide to sell you there complete kitchen set complete with decorations and utensils for thanksgiving. Nothing is impossible especially if the family doesn't want to take a lot of stuff with them.
In closing let us make this Thanksgiving Day a day to be thankful for all that we are grateful for and what it means to give thanks on Thanksgiving Day. Just remember that there are people in other parts of the world who do not have the resources (food, shelter or clothing) to make choices to live a good life.
