The holidays been said to be a time for family ... a time for enjoying a good meal with relatives, in laws, uncles and aunts and the many cousins you may or may not know the name of. In the ideal world that would always be the case, yet we are talking about today. A paradigm shift of sorts from a more traditional standpoint to the modern marvels of being connected all the time and information overload. Hectic schedules, insane deadlines, and changing markets have played a pivotal part in these changes and as such the holiday can easily become quite stressful for even the most adaptable. To insure a joyous occasion there are a few things you can do.

To enjoy the holidays to the fullest it takes planning and a willingness to do what you can to make it work. As the year begins plan for the end of that same year ... in simpler terms, plan ahead to enjoy the holidays all the more. It is as simple as budgeting via the envelope method, putting aside a little bit specifically for that occasion. Organized planning is really all it takes to insure you can enjoy the holidays to the fullest. Being able to just focus on the moment and enjoy the day.

A contingency plan you say well lets look at the second in this list. Another way to enjoy the holidays, is to promote it to family and relatives, your kids, plant a seed, talk about how great it will be to see Grandma, to see Uncle so and so, all the great food and well if you are talking about it with younger children, how great the pumpkin pie will be with the whip cream on top. Describe in detail, to where they can almost taste it. Promotion of an exciting time is significant so instead of dreading the holidays you can look forward to them.

Well you say, what if that does not work, maybe you have teenagers who just see the holidays in a different light. That becomes a whole other challenge but it can be overcome, perhaps relate it to them in some way. Use buzz words, speak in a way they understand it, relate it to them and how it was for you when you were their age.
