ALT-7 Should Hummers be Outlawed for Road Travel – No
The Hummer, all terrain vehicle, was created for use by the military and it is a street legal mode of transportation for those who like to go to places that other less expensive modes of transportation can't get you to. Some people buy one of those off road or go almost anywhere vehicles just to try to climb up mountains and get as high as they can.
That sure is a very expensive form of entertainment and only those who have a whole lot of money and a lust for adventure would ever buy such a vehicle. Does it really make sense to buy such a multi-purpose vehicle? Them again, we are supposed to be living in a free society within the United States of America.
However, as time passes, it seems to me that we aren't as free as we believe ourselves to be and the majority of the people within our Country are under attack by what appears to be the greediest people on Earth. So too, tens of thousands of illegal aliens continue to sneak into our Country and thousands of tons of addictive, deadly and illegal drugs enter our Country and are transported and sold by the most evil people on Earth, to any person who has money.
The members of violent street gangs can be found everywhere within our Country. Thousands of our jobs continue to be lost to Foreigners within Foreign Countries, while the standard of living of the majority declines with each passing minute, and the financial institutions within our Country are all on the brink of going broke. The rate of inflation continues to rise higher than a kite in a hurricane and our elected do-nothing Politicians are doing exactly nothing to prevent any of those truly serious problems for the majority of, "We People of the United States of America." Something is clearly wrong somewhere.
Some say that a revolution will be the result of the above, if things don't improve for the majority in a big hurry. Those corrupt, do-nothing Politicians will soon find themselves thrown out of office, sent to a Federal prison or shot outright by any person who doesn't have anything more to lose. Believe it or not, the business of Politics is a very serious and, at times, a truly deadly profession.
Like it or not, Democracy doesn't work for the majority if the elected representatives of the majority don't comply with the requests and the demands of the majority. The fact is, we are fighting two wars on the other side of the Earth, while the owners and the controllers of those huge multinational corporations continue to suck the wealth out of "We People of the United States of America," and give back almost nothing.
Suddenly, the purchase of such a go anywhere vehicle, like a Hummer, isn't such a bad idea. As a matter of fact, that Hummer could save your life, if deadly street riots become common place within our once great Nation. You see, when millions of people become homeless, when millions of people lose their homes because they can't pay the mortgage or become victims of a natural disaster and all or most of our financial institutions and insurance companies fail, you better believe that those street riots are soon to follow.
Yes, you can simply get into your Hummer and drive yourself and your family away from certain death and destruction, even if our roadways are completely blocked, or you can become a part of real changes for the better. Who will you vote for in 2008?
