ALT-7 Great Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas for your Teen Girl
How do you re-create the excitement that a Christmas stocking used to bring to your now teenaged daughter? How do you fill it with the just-right ingredients of love, magic, and the awareness of who your little girl is becoming. A good way to start is to notice her daily routine with the eyes of someone compiling a dossier.
When she wakes up, are her ear phones the first thing she grabs? Then an iTunes prepaid card or even a new set of ear phones would be a welcomed surprise.
Does she set her alarm especially early so she can attend to her grooming routine? Perhaps she would appreciate Santa's considerate restocking of her make-up bag. Or some scented lotion or lip gloss. Is she fastidious about her hair? Then a new anti-static brush or hair accessories would fit just fine in her stocking.
As she goes off to school, what do you notice about her backpack? Would a travel-sized bottle of waterless hand sanitizer in a yummy scent, of course fit in her bag? What about a new school planner with a favorite cartoon or hobby design for her to jot down all of those homework assignments?
After school does she beg you for a quick trip to Starbucks? Starbucks is now offering customized gift cards for a small additional charge.
Homework is not usually the best part of a teenager's day. Would a new set of pens make her homework more enjoyable?
And her down time; is she a book reader, a movie watcher, or a sports player? Gift certificates to her favorite book store, movie theatre, or sports store can always fit in a stocking. Is she your shutter bug; always snapping photos of her friends? She would have fun with Comic Life, a photo software application for both Windows and Mac. She can create comic strips with her own photos. Think of the creative class projects and scrapbook pages!
Before bed does she like to unwind with a little television? Is there room in her stocking for a dvd of a previous season of a favorite show? At bedtime does she sneak in the last few pages of that book she's been reading? A portable book light could make the sneaking a little easier.
Once you have done your research and compiled your dossier, remember the most important part of stuffing the Christmas stocking is your teenager's realization that she is known, truly known, by you. And what a lovely gift to get in return; that you know a great teenager!
