ALT-7 Are Paid Surveys a Scam

From 3arf

Yes! And...no. It isn't always easy to figure out what is a scam and what isn't. Some paid survey sites are scams. They want you to join a lot of programs and in some cases even spend money to supposedly make money. It doesn't work out well that way and the person involved walks away feeling cheated and often having been cheated. Some of these sites just cheat you on your time and sell your information to companies who still use spam as a way to advertise. This makes a great deal of people stop trying. Either they are afraid that they are going to be scammed or they have been burned once before and they aren't willing to get burned again.

However, not all paid survey sites are scams. None of them are ways to make a quick and easy living, but there are some that really will pay you what they say they will pay you. Often these sites pay in points and those points are redeemable in cash or prizes. These sites often take a lot of time to build up enough points to cash out and they tend to have a limited number of surveys that you are eligible for, but once you make it through you can receive payment, and they pay you just what they say they will.

If you come across a survey site that seems like it is paying way too much and it is just too good to be true, it probably is. However, if you are really interested, search it in Google first. Look for reviews by people who have used it. Try to find ones that don't include affiliate or referral links. These people are more likely to be honest. However, if they give a pros and cons and share with you both, they are probably telling the truth even if they have a referral link on there. Look for bad things about the company. If you don't find any, proceed with caution.

Don't give out your information if you don't feel comfortable giving it out. Some companies will ask for a lot of information. If you feel like they might be a scam, don't give it to them. If you think you found the real deal, proceed, but with caution.

There are real live paying survey sites, but this is one area that is a pain to sift through. Often the real paid sites are intermixed with scams and sites looking to steal your information and sell it. Read terms of services as well as privacy statements. Try to stay informed about what you are getting involved in and you can find the real deal and avoid being scammed.
