A lot of us love the convenience of shopping online, and there's no better place to do it than through Amazon.com. They always have competitive prices, and sometimes you can get even better deals by buying off the Amazon.com marketplace. Even after paying shipping, I still almost always save money on a purchase of a movie or CD by purchasing it through Amazon.com rather than heading down to Wal-Mart or another local media retailer. Now there's a way to make shopping on Amazon.com even better.
Have you ever bought something from Amazon only to find that the price has dropped a week after you bought it? Yeah, it's frustrating, and now there's something you can do about it. If the price of an item that you buy drops within 30 days of you purchasing it, Amazon.com will actually credit you the difference. The catch is that you actually have to ask for it. Most people don't know that you can actually do this, so very few people take advantage of it.
The first thing you have to do is figure out if you have any purchases eligible for a refund. Go to the "Your Account" section on Amazon, and look at all of your orders in the last 30 days. Check the prices in your invoices and compare them to the current prices listed on Amazon.com. If the price has dropped by any meaningful amount of money, you can get that money back.
Copy down the order number for the item that decreased in price, and head to Amazon's "Returns & Refunds Contact Form". Change the subject to "Refund Query" and select the order number in question. Inside of the comment form, simply state that the price has dropped within the last 30 days, and you'd like a refund of the difference.
If you're lucky enough to have purchased more than one item and gotten a discount for multiple purchases, you can save even more. Let's say you bought two items that were normally $75 each for $100 for the two of them. You saved $50 off the deal already, but if the prices of that item dropped down to say $25, you can still get the full refund of the difference. This means you would have bought 2 $50 items for just $50.00. That's as good as buying one and getting one free! You won't always get this lucky, but it sure feels good if you do!
On top of the already great prices that Amazon has to offer, now you can save even more money. It only takes a few minutes to check and see if you're eligible for a price-drop refund. It's free money that wasn't there before, who could ask for anything more?
