ALT-5 Are Hybrid Cars Cool or Uncool – Cool
My brother came to visit my family and me last summer. He brought his fiance. They were driving a hybrid car, which is no surprise since they both have doctorates in alternative energy areas.
I found the car to be fascinating. It had all the amenities I was used to, but it was small and quite rounded. After exploring it some and considering the matter a little while I consumed ice cream, I decided that hybrid cars are empirically cool.
The first thing that makes hybrid cars cool is the way they look. Do you remember back in the day when we would watch science fiction movies that were set in the year 2000? Do you remember how they always had totally space-age looking cars? And now it's the year 2008 and we don't really have space-age looking cars. We have big blocky Escalades and chunky Chargers.
Hybrids are space-age looking cars. They're all rounded and sleek. Their hoods meld smoothly with the windshields and the windshields blend gently into the roof. They look certifiably cool! And then when you open the hood and take a look at the fun stuff under there, they look even more cool.
So reason one that hybrids are cool is that they look sweet.
The second reason that hybrid cars are cool is due to their size. They're small cars! Why is this a good thing? I'll tell you. No, you have to let me tell you. Okay.
First off, they can weave in and out of tiny holes in traffic with no problem. This is handy if you are driving in New York City or California or Tokyo. Another thing that is great about their size is that they are totally easy to park! Parallel parking is a cinch and you can almost park two of them sideways in the normal parking spots outside stores!
Hybrid cars' size also causes no problems with clearance. You should see some of these Cadillac Escalades at the McDonald's drive-thru. They get stuck! And the final reason why hybrid cars' small size is good is because the size deflates the ego that has been built up by our SUV/excessive/entitled/gimme more culture.
So the size of hybrid cars is cool.
The final reason why hybrid cars are so cool is the simple fact that they run more efficiently. Thus, our dependance on fossil fuels is reduced, as is our addiction to foreign oil run by the devil and his lackeys. In essence, the good counteracting effect that hybrid cars have on the global warming issue makes them literally cool. And green.
In conclusion, go get one. They're a little more expensive, but think of the long-term, not the short term. And didn't you know that if your car is cool, you, by extension are cool as well? I know that makes a difference for me.
