ALT-4 Top Ten Gifts You’d like to Receive
I love gifts. I love to give them and I love to receive them. I hate to say it, but I don't believe in that whole "it's the thought that counts" theory. I really want the actual gift and whether you think about it or not, if you don't get it, there's just something missing. I am not a material girl per se, but if you want to know my top ten, you aren't going to see a homemade card anywhere on the list!
1)Alaskan cruise-Number one on my list would be a cruise through Alaska. I would love to see all the wildlife from the comfort of a ship with my wonderful husband. That would be a one of a kind gift that I would remember forever by the million pictures I would surely take!
2)Maid service-Not for a lifetime, or even for a month. I would just like a truly thorough Spring cleaning, windows and all!
3)Rodeo tickets-I love going to the rodeo. The atmosphere there is unbeatable as far as live events go. The sounds, the smells, the crowds, priceless!
4)Beach cabin-I don't need to own it, just a week's rental would be fine with me! I want to go alone and get some writing time in with no distractions and the inspiration of the sea.
5)Gift certificates-I am a gift card junkie! I love them, from just about anywhere! I can always find some treasure. I love when my husband adds money to my paypal account to feed my Ebay addiction.
6)Vacation for the rest of the family-This is the gift that everyone enjoys. I would love to book a trip for the kids and husband so that I could just sit around for days in a clean house and a clean robe, ordering takeout, and doing whatever struck my fancy. I would be happy when they came home, but I am fairly sure I could stand solitude for a few days!
7)Writing studio-I have the greatest idea in my head of the perfect room in my house for a writing studio where I could go and put my thoughts down with limited distractions. If someone could just do the hard part for me and remodel the room to my specifications, what joy would be mine!
8)Photo to video-As close to a homemade card as I'm getting on the top ten list would be to have my favorite photos of my family growing up made into a video with music in the background. I love those, but have no clue how to make one.
9)Nintendo-I am not talking about the Wii or even the SuperNintendo, I mean the old one. You know the one, with Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt, games I can actually play, and controllers with a limited amount of buttons.
10)Plastic surgery-I admit it, if I could afford it, I would get a couple of minor alterations to "enhance" my appearance. The gift that keeps on giving, so to speak...
I love gifts, any and all. I love the excitement and anticipation in opening them. I love the pretty bows and shiny wrapping. But, as far as the top ten, there they are. By the way, my birthday's this week-end...wink, wink.
