ALT-4 Secrets to Enjoying Family Holidays

From 3arf

The holidays can be a chaotic time. Finding something for everyone to enjoy can be difficult. But, there are ways to make the holiday season an enjoyable time for everyone in your brood. Preparation is key and to do that you need to know what everyone is interested in seeing and doing.

If you're going to have relatives in town, then the thing to do is first check out all the local events and attractions in your neck of the woods. Then write an email to everyone about what they are and when they start and how much it may cost. Ask them to respond with their three top choices. Do this about a month before people are due to arrive. This will give you plenty of time to schedule, buy tickets (the good ones) and let everyone know what the itinerary will entail once they arrive.

Clean up and clean out everything in your home to make room. Create a meal plan that you know will include at least three things everyone wants to eat. Get the gifts you need at least a week before the season begins for your family. Make sure that you buy the food for the big meal at least two days before. There are some recipes that require things to sit it the refrigerator overnight, so you'll want to be prepared.

For the events you'll be attending, make sure you have a day planner and a watch on you at all times. And, if needed, extra cab or train fare. The more organized you are, the more smoothly things will run. And don't forget the camera. You'll want to take lots of pictures you can email to your friends and family showing them just how much fun you had. It's a good memory for everyone! Hopefully these tips will make your next family holiday smoother and fun for everyone!
