ALT-4 How to Make a Pizza Gift Basket
Most people love pizza, gifts and surprises. So when you combine all of these ingredients, you have the makings of a great present for your favorite family or individual.Of course, if you are creating a pizza gift basket, you will need something to put all of your gift items in. While you don’t necessarily need to use a basket, it is the most convenient way to assemble your goodies. And, not all of the items in the basket need to be directly pizza related.If your recipient is handy around the kitchen, you might include a couple of boxes of pizza dough mix, or a homemade mix of your own, and, of course, a pizza pan, or a pizza stone. If they are not kitchen oriented, include a couple of pre-made crusts and a pizza pan. From there, you will want to add tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and possibly some other toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms and other veggies. You will definitely want to add some herbs, either fresh or dried, like basil, and oregano, garlic cloves, or a jar of pizza seasoning. A jar of pizza grinder mix with peppers and other spices and a can of parmesan cheese is also a good addition. You might want to add some bread sticks, or even an entire loaf of Italian bread.Of course, not everything in the basket must be pizza related. Add a little Italian flair and atmosphere to your basket by lining the basket first with a bright checked table cloth. Add a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses, a couple of plates, decorated with a Mediterranean theme, and a candle, complete with wine bottle vase.While you are preparing an Italian pizza basket, give the recipients even more atmosphere with a CD of Italian music, or a book of favorite Italian recipes or a guide book of tourist destinations.On the other hand, if your pizza basket is geared toward a family who will be eating their pizza in front of the TV while watching the big game of the week, add some of their favorite team memorabilia, Decorate their basket with their team colors, and line it with a stadium blanket.Pizza baskets are not only fun to get, they are fun to create, and the accessories you can add are unlimited. Whatever you include, it is sure to be a big hit.
