ALT-4 Christmas 2007 Gift Ideas for Teen Girls Aged 16 18

From 3arf

Being a single parent for most of my daughter's 17 years, I've learned to shop for Christmas presents with a sense of practicality, excitement and of providing memories of happy times and traditions that can be passed down through the generations.

My shopping starts with two gift certificates. The first, a JiffyLube gift certificate for that much needed oil change in her car and while her car is being pampered, she can pamper herself and use the gift of her manicure and pedicure certificate. These are great stocking stuffer ideas as well. To go along with that, she'll usually find some car necessities wrapped and waiting under the tree that might include new wiper blades, an air freshner and a gas card. To keep her hands and feet soft as silk, some nice lotions and new polishes for her nails are placed in a gift basket that she can use throughout the year.

When it comes to clothes, Fox is her brand of choice and this year she'll find the black hoody waiting for her. Matching accessories are always a hit. Christmas Eve isn't complete without the Pink lounge pants from Victoria's Secret with a matching tee and slippers. And while you're there, grab their body spray to put in the lotion basket. The Pink Bring Everywhere blanket from Victoria's Secret is also sure to be a hit with girls this age.

Jewelry items go great in the stocking and range from earrings (remember, they probably need 2-3 pairs.........who has just one ear piercing these days?), earrings, toe rings, charms for the charm bracelet and a belly button ring.

If the teen on your list is anything like mine, besides being interested in fashion, being pampered and having fun, she is also interested in wordly issues like global warming. In a world such as ours and for such teens, it also seems there is little they can do. You can find the book "The Hot Topic: What We Can Do About Global Warming " by Gabrielle Walker andDavid King at Target. What better way to get our girls prepared for taking care of the world we are leaving them?

A digital picture frame is a great idea for girls in this age group as well. They can have a slideshow of their friends and show off the digital pics they've taken over the year. If they don't have a digital camera yet, they're pretty inexpensive and I don't know a teenage girl who wouldn't love to find one under the tree.

Seems like hanging out with friends is where 16-18 year old girls want to be, so gift certificates to movies, bowling or any other events they enjoy always come in handy. If your teen enjoys a particular sport or theater, consider a pair of tickets to a game or event.

Enjoy shopping for your special teen this year. And when they open that special outfit you thought was the new craze and they crinkle up their nose, remember, next year just get gift certificates............
