ALT-3 Where to Find Jobs that are Hiring now

From 3arf

Multi-tasking jobs are open all day every day. Give some one a job doing one thing only and they will likely work there forever. These high turnover jobs occur in every profession in every business. Some times, it is only one position and some times, it is the entire staff.

Fast food workers would stay in their jobs longer if they did not have to multi-task. You take a job flipping burgers and now your job requires you to refill the ice and clean the soda bar. On the other hand, you are an electrical engineer and your new job requires you to supervise 15 clerical employees.

Retail sales are a prime example of a job that requires multi-tasking. You offer customer assistance to promote products and assumed that you would be ringing-up orders and putting out displays. You never envisioned that you would be cleaning toilets or climbing a 50’ ladder to change the lettering on a sign.

Automobile technicians are required to sell products. Mechanics do not mind selling tires or windshield wiper blades but they do not want to sell electronics. Veterinarian assistants do not mind selling pet care products but their job requires them to train and supervise volunteers for rescue organizations.

You would think that flagging traffic for road construction would be a dangerous job but you never envisioned that you would also be cleaning construction equipment and picking up trash on the roadway. An office receptionist may be required to clean windows and vacuum.

Customer service jobs have frequent openings. Who could imagine that they would not like filling the vending machines and cleaning the break room.

If you need a job now, look for a job with multiple tasks involved. How could a pizza delivery job become multi-task? When you run errands, make bank deposits, and sweep the parking lot.

People can only handle the nagging by these opportunist tasks for so long. These are the jobs open year round. If you are looking for a job now, go to the section on the application titled additional skills or experience and check the ones that apply. This means that you will multi-task. The list will have very common ordinary things like operating a copier, video player, or high tech equipment. Of course, you know that there are no copiers, video players, or high tech equipment at restaurants or on road construction jobs.

Quick specialty seasonal jobs are available year round and usually do not require multi-tasking. You can work from one season to the next and have employment year round. This keeps you from job hunting and taking one bad job after another.
