Let's face it - any mother would love the gift of pampering, in honor of mother's day. But most of us, though we love our mothers, are trying hard just to break even in this cut-throat capitalist world. We don't even know if we are going to have enough to pay our rent for June. So, how do you make your mother feel special without spending $400 for that 1/2 day at the spa? And, at the same time, realize that they are just as loved and special. Honestly, there are some people out there who are better off than the rest of us, and it would be nothing for them to drop $400 for their mother's full spa treatment. But that's just the point - it would be nothing to them.
What if you made up a personalized card promising massages or foot rubs? I have a friend that is a certified masseuse, and I'm not too bad at feet rubs myself. What about a trip to a discount store to assemble a nice basket of lotions and body oils? That usually wont break the bank. Plus it has that air of the personal about it. There are numerous ways to appeal to your mother's desire for beauty and special treatment. Use your imagination. Maybe you are a bit squeamish about giving your mother a foot rub or a back massage, but GET OVER IT! She did give you life, didn't she?
