ALT-3 Relationship between Easter and Passover
There is a great spiritual connection between Easter and Passover. As believers we tend to forget that Jesus is our Messiah. We tend to celebrate Easter but not Passover. Because of this, some of us tend not to realize the connection between Passover and the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter.
Passover is meant to celebrate the beginning of a relationship between God and Israel. Easter, which is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, is meant to celebrate the relationship between Passover and Easter. This is the way for all of us to understand all of the Biblical Feasts. Easter happens every year the first Sunday after the full moon.
According to Christian Scripture Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days after his crucifixion. Passover is a Jewish Holiday commemorating the Hebrews escape from the Diastora in Egypt. Passover begins on the 15th day of the month of Nisan. In the Bible, the story of Exodus, The Bible tells that God inflicted ten plagues upon the Egyptians before Pharaoh. He released the Hebrew Slaves with the tenth plague beginning with killing of the first born son. The Hebrews were told to put the blood of a slain lamb on the door post of their home. When the Spirit of the Lord saw this, He Passed over all of their homes and that is where they got Passover. When Pharaoh set them free they left so fast that they didn't even wait for the bread to rise.
To commemorate the celebration of Passover, they do not eat any leavened bread for this reason it is called by the Torah, The Festival Of The Unleavened Bread. In case you'd like to know what the meaning of Torah, The Torah is the most holy of the sacred writings of Judaism. People usually celebrate Easter by going to church and having a feast and having lots of chocolate with Easter Baskets and an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. Easter usually falls up to a week after the first day of Passover.
In Western Christianity Easter comes at the end of Lent, A time of fasting and repenting for sins for forty days,( not including Sundays). Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover, for symbolism and much of the position of the Jewish Calendar. Cultural Elements, such as the Easter Bunny and Easter Egg Hunts, have become a part and parcel of the Easter Celebration, and these rituals are often celebrated both by Christians and Non Christians as well.
There are also many Christian Denominations that do not celebrate Easter. As a result, they do not get the chocolate bunny or be a part of the famous easter egg hunt.
