I own a mystery shopping company and want to tell all that are reading this now that it can be profitable BUT DO NOT QUIT YOUR DAY JOB. We use folks that are flexible in their schedules, observant, follow directions, write English on the level of a high school senior, have access to a car and are willing to travel. Our company is specializing in the real estate field, both apartments to lease and homes for sale.
We prefer to use folks that have lived in apartments and have bought homes. We operate nationally at this time. People find us through various sources. Use your imagination and Google mystery shoppers. Attitude toward mystery shopping is important for it comes through when you do a "shop". Develop scenarios according to what your research on the property shows. In other words do not go into a million dollar home wearing jeans and driving a truck. Do not shop a property that does not take pets and tell them you have a German Shepard dog.
Mystery shopping can be a transition between jobs and also a trial run for someone who is thinking of being a leasing consultant or a home sales associate. It can be fun and profitable.
