ALT-3 How to Organize your Vehicle

From 3arf

Papers, toys, snacks, trash, all this things are common in our daily lives but, most of the time, they all end in the same place, our cars back seat and floor. The problem is that this situation is not only annoying, especially when you have passengers; it is a safety hazard. Many people have accidents while they try to reach something in the back of their car. Just imagine what could happen if a bottle rolls under your brake pedal. Fortunately, there are tricks and gadgets that can help us keep our cars organized.

Actually, many companies are presenting products to help us keep every single thing we need in our car organized. Some of them are between five and one hundred dollars and they go from bins, to pockets, to clothes racks and even safety vaults to keep a spare key and money outside the car.

But when we need to keep our car clean there are no excuses. Even when we can't afford to buy some of these organizers we can have every thing in place using cardboard or plastic boxes, some bags and folders.

There are some simple steps to get your car ready for your next trip:

First, clean out your car; take every thing out, even the spare tire and all your tools. Don't forget the glove box, cup holders and trunk.

Then, there are some items that you really going to need in your car. You have to sort them and choose a useful place to store them. These are a few ideas:* Gloves box- You can store important papers as your car registration, insurance policies, copies of important documents and some money for emergencies. These can be kept in a folder or a plastic bag. You can also have a map, a note pad, some pencils and a disposable camera - this can be useful in case of an accident.

  • Cup holders- Use one to hold your cell phone or you can buy a phone holder or a pocket that can be hanged on your air vents.
  • Seats pockets- You may want to have a rain coat or umbrella, some plastic bags, snacks and a bottle of water behind the passenger seat. If you have kids you may want to keep some activity books and crayons behind the driver's seat. If your car does not have pockets there are some organizers that can be hanged over the seats or on the seats, with hard surfaces to write, even some cooler organizers to carry cold drinks.
  • Trunk- Spare tire, make sure that it's filled. In a trunk container or box you should have a wrench, tools, oils, and water. In other container you may have a first aid kit, some cloths and a bag of personal stuff for emergencies.

As you can see it is not impossible to keep our car clean and organized; we just need a little discipline to keep every thing in place.
