ALT-3 How to Butter up your Boss
You probably spend more time with your boss than you do with other significant people in your life so it is important that you make this person happy. You will need to work hard to butter up your boss and you will also have to do a little research. First of all, you need to find out what your boss likes to eat, talk about and how he/she conducts business. Observe this person for a week or so before you begin.
If your boss is an early-bird, make sure you get there earlier than he or she does. Bring breakfast. If you have to stay up all night making bread that will be warm and fresh, you must do this. There is nothing like bread from the oven and make sure you bring butter and some gourmet cheese to go with the bread. You can also bring some strawberries or other fruit to go with the bread and cheese. Experiment with different types of bread. It will be worth it for you to purchase a coffee maker with the capacity to make cappucino and espresso. This way, you can make the coffee in the morning and later on, after lunch, you can make a cup of delicious cappucino or espresso. You should also make some delicate cookies (you can do this in the early evening) to go with the cappucino or espresso.
You should always anticipate your boss' needs and be ready to meet those needs in an instant. Listening is very important and nodding your head and smiling in agreement after every few sentences is crucial. Agreeing with everything your boss says is essential. It is also important that you credit your boss for the good work that is done, even if you are the one who has done it. Give credit - do not take or ask for credit. Praise your boss. Everyone needs to feel that they are doing a good job and your boss is no exception.
Always be ready to invite your boss to lunch if he/she has not made other arrangements.
Don't forget the cappucino or espresso in the afternoon. Don't even get ready to leave or give any indication you would like to go home at the end of the day until your boss has started getting ready to call it a day.
The evenings are going to be your busiest times. There are the cookies and the preparations for the bread-making. At this point, you should also know what your boss' favorite dishes are and prepare some so that he/she can take it home and have it in the evening or on the weekend. If your boss likes rice and beans, make some rice and beans and put it a Tupperware container and it can be frozen until ready to eat. If your boss likes some exotic dish, go to the ends of the earth until you find the ingredients and how to prepare it and then do it.
Remember, this is for you and your contentment while at work. You have to butter up your boss so that your job will be easier and you will have less stress on the job. If your boss is happy, you will be happy. Just make sure you have good medical coverage and that mental health professionals are covered by your insurance - just in case you ever need to see a mental health professional.
