ALT-3 Gift Ideas for 6 9 Year old Boys
You're in the store, on you're 100th lap around the toy section, frantically searching for just the right gift for the little man in your life. If you have ever watched television with or shopped with a little boy then you already know they want EVERYTHING they see. My son who is 8 is the prime example. He has elaborate lists made months in advance for all occasions. He loves action figures, Star Wars, Dragon Ball Z, video games, drawing and coloring, Naruto, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, trading cards, card games and anything you can take apart. He's the typical boy and enjoys bugs, nature, and science. My kids are so spoiled by their father, step-father, myself and all of our families. I usually ask that all of the grandparents get the kids clothes. My son LOVES shopping and enjoys getting gift cards that are printed with cartoon characters. I like to put together large gift bags of many small items. I go to dollar stores and the dollar section at Target. I have found models of frogs and human bodies that you can open and explore the inside of the bodies. I threw in a sketch pad, markers, crayons, colored pencils, and pens. My son loves Legos and Transformers as well.If you are having a hard time choosing something for a little guy then let me make a few suggestions. Trading cards, card games, hand held video cames, any action figure, Legos, educational toys, or art supplies. If you would have enjoyed it as a kid or did enjoy it as a kid then that's the gift. Many of the characters and toys we all grew up with are making a come-back and some never left. We still have all of our comic book heros like the Hulk, Spiderman, and Batman. There's GI Joe, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kids love to play sports so see if they need any equipment. Model cars, Hot Wheels, RC cars, and motorcycles were always favorites for my brother and still are for his son and my son. If all else fails go with the gift card and let them shop for themselves. My son also enjoys passes to a museum, the movies, or miniature golf. Always ask the parents of the children and take into account the children's favorites such as character(s), color(s), author(s), games and game system, clothing sizes, sports, teams, etc. Another great idea that was given to me is buying a star in their name, or donating to a charity, or "adopting" an animal at the zoo in their name. Relax and enjoy the experience. Don't stress and remember what it was to be young once. They are only little for such a short time. Love them, cherish them and let the boys be boys.
