ALT-3 Fascination and Obsession with Pimped out Vehicles
Fascination and obsession with "pimped out" vehicles can be classified as a pretty hot topic today amongst the younger generation. Fascination usually leads to an obsession once what you are fascinated by (if it's materialistic) becomes affordable! Youths of today are fascinated/thrilled by automobiles sporting fancy rims, fancy paint-jobs, extremely loud music with heavy bass, body kits, under-glow neons etc. Even the low riders with hydraulic systems always catch the eye! Personally I am fascinated by cars that are customized or what people term "pimped out". If you think about it, not only are the cars pimped out but they also represent the creativity of the owners' minds. I mean for example some people actually fabricate their own body-kits using fiberglass etc. just to have something unusual and something that attracts attention.
You have to look at both sides of a picture since some youths like to express themselves through their automobiles. This would also paint a picture of their character but I would not use that as an indicator to judge someone. For example I'm a very successful person and I do own a "pimped out" Subaru Impreza WRX. I am fascinated by cars and motor-sports so it was always my dream to own a "pimped out" car that was turbocharged, sporting 17" rims etc. From my experience I can say that I tend to express myself through my cars' images, which somehow represents my "taste" or creativity.
Of course some youths over-do it with their cars, for example installing extremely loud music systems which annoy passers-by or irritate older folks with the heavy bass vibrations. I mean there's a good and bad side towards everything. Think about it this way, it's better that a youth spends his/her money on accessories to customize his car rather than use the money to buy drugs and alcohol! It can keep some youths out of trouble because that's what it did for me! Therefore I'd give some praises to the owners of these "pimped out" cars rather than bash them!
