ALT-3 Christmas Gifts that Won’t Embarrass your Teen Girl

From 3arf

It's Christmas time once again and I'm sure you parents out there are trying not to embarrass your teenagers this year. Well, here are a few tips you might consider for your next shopping trip.

If you're like my parents, you will not be able to resist purchasing that cute reindeer sweater with sleigh bells sewn on. For your sake, I recommend avoiding the temptation. As a matter of fact, I recommend that you stay clear of all clothing items because most teenagers are appalled by their parent's fashion sense. But, if you simply can't bear Christmas without buying clothes for your teen you need to take a hint. Try to present your teenager with articles that are only subtly different from what they normally wear. If they favor a striped-polo buy them the same polo in a different color. At least they won't have to "thank-you" while holding up a reindeer sweater on Christmas morning.

Another fair warning is to stay away from undergarments. If your teenager needs underwear, they would probably prefer to pick it up the next time they're at the mall instead of being surprised in front of all of their relatives. In addition to that, underwear is not exactly a gift that will make most teenagers happy. If I were you, I would stick to music for their mp3's or whatever they write on their Christmas list.

Last, but certainly no least, refrain from "cute". Your opinion of cute is very likely to be a teenagers description of childish. That pink, frilly lamp that's on sale might be appealing to you as a parent, but think about your teenager. They might agree that it's interesting but would probably gag at the thought of keeping it in their room. "Cute" in a teenager's language usually means one of the last things a parent would look at for a gift.

If you're a parent trying not to embarrass your teenager this Christmas you can most-likely see that you have your work cut out for you. The easiest and most obvious way to ensure your teen is happy this Christmas would be to ask them exactly what they want in detail.
