A Father's Day gift basket is easy and will let your father know you put special thought into his gift. Your Father’s Day gift basket should be filled with things that will reflect the personality of your own father. Think about what kind of things interest your father and give yourself a few days to gather the items you choose to put in your basket. Does he have a hobby?
If your dad likes cooking then make up a pasta basket: fill with one or more of his favorite pastas, (angel hair, fettuccini, ravioli) a can or two of tomato paste, a few fresh tomatoes, Italian herbs, either fresh or dried depending on when he will have a chance to use them (oregano, rosemary, basil, garlic, onions) A nice fresh loaf of crusty bread can be a great addition to any fathers day Italian fathers day basket. A new spaghetti pot can be use as the basket.If your dad is a couch potato: a gift card to his favorite movie rental store would be perfect, and you could get some microwave popcorn, gummy bears, and milk duds. Top it off with some soda or beer according to his taste and your age. See if you can find an empty giant popcorn tub and use it as the basket.
If your dad loves his computer get him some new software, a new keyboard, mouse or webcam, new computer toys are coming out daily. If he has a laptop get him a new case and fill it with his favorite snacks and a picture of the two of you, he will love it.
If your dad fancies himself a wine connoisseur: a gift card for a wine tasting along with a couple of bottles of wine from a new vineyard. Add a little Brie and some crackers. A cheese board and spreader is a nice touch. Add a bunch of fresh or plastic grapes for a finishing touch.
If your dad is a sports fan: Two tickets for a game of his sport (football, basketball, hockey, or baseball) maybe the two of you can go to the game together. A bag of peanuts, a “worlds greatest dad trophy) and a couple of beers will fill in the basket and make your dad smile. If your father does not drink or you are underage then you can always substitute the beer for root beer.
