There are many high performance on the market, however some of these "speed-machines" may not fall into your budget. The cars that the U.S. manufactures seem to be the most inexpensive and seems to allow you to get more "Bang for your buck."
One of the top high performance cars available is the new Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06. It produces a monstrous 505 Horsepower and can go from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and exceed speeds of 190 miles per hour. The Z06 has a curb weight of 3,132 pounds also. It out performs European exotics such as the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430. The Lamborghini and Ferrari have base prices of nearly or over $200,000 The base price for this vehicle is $71,275 making it much more affordable than the Lamborghini or Ferrari. (Over $100,000 more affordable than the Lamborghini or Ferrari.)
Another high performance vehicle is the Dodge Viper SRT10. It produces 500 Horsepower and can also exceed 190 miles per hour. It is equipped with a V10 engine, and out performs most European sports cars just as the Z06 does, yet it is still at a more affordable price of about $90,000.
The Shelby GT500 mustang is also a force to be reckoned with. It's supercharged V8 engine produces 500 horsepower and can exceed speeds of 180 miles per hour. Though not as quick as the Dodge Viper or Corvette Z06 due to weight distribution, it is still a satisfying car and will give you a thrill ride. The price of this vehicle starts at around $46,000.
The Corvette Coupe is also a good choice if you are on a budget. It has a all aluminum block V8 engine that produces 400 Horsepower. It can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds. It also has a top speed of 186 miles per hour, which is only 12 miles per hour slower than the Z06 but is still faster than the GT500. Not bad for a Corvette. The price of this vehicle starts at around $46,000, which is about the same as the GT500.
American-made performance cars have always been the most affordable and have always allowed you to get more "Bang for your buck." They compete and outperform mostEuropean sports cars that cost nearly $200,000 or more and are most of the time more powerful. Not only have American Manufactures made powerful cars affordable, but they have also made them more comfortable. If I were planning to buy a high performance vehicle, I'd save thousands and buy and American car.
