Many people suggest to use hot water to your frozen car door. However, in this way there is a danger to cause damage to some of the rubber and painted parts of the car. Instead of hot water, try to use a hair dryer. You should apply warm air onto the car door until it releases. Set the blow dryer on high and hold it about six inches from the frozen door. This is the most time consuming way, but is very effective. Another way to unfreeze your car door is to use a de-icer spray. A de-icer spray does not cost much and it is the ideal solution for frozen doors. You should Spray around the frame of the car door. Then wait for a few minutes and try gently to open the door. Do not force it, because it is possible to damage the car door. De-icer is the most fast and effective way to clear ice and frost from your car doors.
Another way to unfreeze your car door is to use wind-shield washer fluid. This is a fluid for vehicles that is used in cleaning the wind-shield with the car wiper. Pour the wind-shield washer fluid around the door and into the cracks. Then you should wait for a few minutes and let the fluid act at de-thawing the door. May be you will need to apply more wind-shield washer fluid if the car door is still frozen shut.
Always check to see if you can get inside of your car through any of the other doors. If you can, get into the car and turn it on along with the defrost. When the car heats up enough try to open the driver's door. Finally, consider to lubricate the rubber seals of your car doors with a lubricating spray in order to prevent the doors from freezing shut in a cold icy weather.
