ALT-2 Inexpensive Gift Ideas from a Single Mom
When your a single mother of two, and times are already rough, and you know "that time of year" is quickly approaching, thats when you have no other choice but to think really fast on ideas of what to give out to family members and friends. When your already stretched income is all tied up in making sure that your children have the gifts that they have wished for, you then begin to wonder how are you going to get that little bit of juice out of that already dried turnip. Well here are a few thoughts and ideas that I have come up with over the years. If your a garage sale junkie, then your going to love this... Most flee markets, yard sales, and thrift stores are normally reasonable on their prices, and if you hit the right sales, they are nearly a steal. Find what you looking for, or something that your gift receiver would like, buy it, and refurbish it. Even if its old, needs a little work, or just maybe a new paint job. The cost of repainting it isn't even close to the original purchase price it would have been in the stores. You can pick up the most expensive gifts at a flee market, or especially a yard sale for near pennies, and turn it back into the original high priced item that it was when it was in the stores. Now for those gift receivers that like antiques, - same deal- hunt for old items in the same places, and refurbish them as well, you may not want to do such a great job at restoring that gift, but the older and more used that item appears, the more antique it will look. and that antique collector will love it.For the person that thinks the have everything-, here is the perfect gift idea: Recycle, recycle, recycle... have you ever seen an old pair of pajama pants? maybe with hearts or some common design on them? or even some old scrubs? well check this out.. it has to have a draw string first off, then just with two push pins, or small nails, attach to the wall on nail on each hip area, and stuff them suckers full of common grocery bags,(Walmart bags) and there you have a bag dispenser. If you want you can use a child size pair of pants and make a diaper dispenser, or hand towel dispenser, anything that can be stuffed into those pants, and can be pulled out the bottom can be dispensed from these britches.. try it.. your receiver will love it.
