ALT-2 How to take the Guesswork out of Gift Giving
It is not always easy to buy gifts for other people. If they are not close friends or relatives it is even harder. It is always best to know a person when giving them a gift. It does not matter whether or not they are a close friend, co-worker or a new friend, there are ways to take the guesswork out of gift giving.
CLOSE FRIEND
When buying a close friend gifts generally it is easy. A person is in tune with her close friends and knows what they like, want and need. Close friends visit a lot and spend a lot of time together so there’s not a lot of guesswork in buying a gift for a close friend. Just be sure to always pay attention when talking to what he or she likes. Notice his or her home and find out what she collects.
CO WORKER
Co-workers are often times very hard to buy for. Much of the time people simply work together and do not visit much. If the gift giving is a part of a Secret Santa tradition there is a very easy way to take the guesswork out of gift giving. Suggest that everyone who is involved in Secret Santa write down the things they like, such as favorite foods, books, items, music and any other misc. item. This will take all of the guesswork out of buying for your pal. If a person just wants to buy gifts for other co-workers a no fail gift is a box of chocolates. Most everyone likes chocolates. It might pay to ask around and find out if anyone has allergies or diabetes so that the candies will either be sugar free or not contain allergens.
NEW FRIEND
To take the guesswork out of buying a gift for a new friend a person should really pay attention to things the friend has to say or the things that she does. If invited to her home, be very observant and notice what she has in her home. Talk to her about the things that she collects. The same applies to men, visit with each other and find out his likes and dislikes.
The most important thing that is required to take the guesswork out of gift giving is knowing about the person the gift is being purchased for. Be aware of the person they are. If that is not possible rely on the standard present, a gift card. Then the person can buy what her or she wants which takes all of the guesswork out of it.
