From 3arf

In many different ways, patience can lead to a successful career.  It is truly a virtue, as the saying goes, and can be very desirable in an employee.  The following are ways in which this quality can aid in your career.

A lot of employers look for this quality when hiring workers

Being patient might help you get some jobs.  A lot of times, you can tell that someone is patient and this might be a benefit in the eyes of some job recruiters.  There are many jobs in which patience can be a virtue.  For instance, a lot of times people work with customers or the direct public.  Oftentimes these customers may take a long time in something or even be unreasonable.  A patient person might be able to deal well with this and thus serve the customer better. A lot of people who are interviewing and hiring employees might also be looking for these qualities.

It will help you deal with your supervisors

A lot of times, bosses take a lot of patience.  Many supervisors do things that are frustrating to their workers.  If someone does not have patience then they may say or do something that gets them into trouble.  Unfortunately, it only takes one outburst to lose you a job.  Not only might you lose the job, but you will probably also lose the recommendation, which can make it more difficult to get your next job.

It will help you deal well with those under you

Not only will patience help you deal well with those above you, but it can also help you deal with those under you.  If people do things that are wrong, you can deal with them with patience instead of saying or doing something that will just make the situation worse.  That is not to say that you should be a pushover and let those under you walk all over you, however it is always better to deal with a clear head rather than just act in anger.

It will help you during your job

Patience can also help you perform your job.  For instance, if you are having trouble with a task, you may be good at staying calm and getting it done rather than getting upset and just having it take longer.  Obviously you can also deal better with people a lot of times.

Patience can help you have a successful career.  The above points are reasons why this is so.
