ALT-2 Fun Thanksgiving Family Games
Thanksgiving, more than any other time of year, is an opportunity for friends and family to stop their hectic lifestyle and pace and enjoy being together. It is also a time to create lasting memories that our kids carry with them for a lifetime and hopefully recreate for their own families as they grow up.Thanksgiving is also a time of deep tradition. We eat the same foods year after year, we are with the same people and often split up and do our own thing once the meal is done. This year, why not create a new tradition and play a game after or before the meal?If you're playing before the meal, invite your guests to come a little earlier, put out a few snacks and start the games. Playing the game before the meal gets everyone in a festive mood and they haven't eaten so much they can't move yet.Pick a game that the entire family can play together, keeping in mind the smaller kids too.Great games for before the meal.1: Cards. Depending on how many people and the ages, cards are always fun. Go fish is something all ages can enjoy and if you have older kids only, try playing rummy or gin.2: Taboo is a great game and can also be played in teams.3: Get little gifts, they can be anything from a pack of gum, dollar bill, candy or anything else you think your company would like. Place a small piece of paper on each gift with a number on it. Take the matching number and tape it around different parts of the house for people to find. Once they have it, they recite the poem below and say something they are grateful for.
