ALT-2 Christmas 2007 Gift Ideas for Tomboyish Teen Girls

From 3arf

seeing as how teenagers are hard to buy for to begin with, you need to be pretty sharp to score points with a tomboy. If she is really into one main sport, that is easy. Soccer is pretty popular with girls these days, so hooking her up with maybe some athletic equipment is one idea.

If you're in the dead of winter, how about some snowboarding gear? If she is a true tomboy, chances are that she hangs out with some other athletic kids, and probably some boys, as well. This means that she is going to be into some guy sports, and she won't want to seem weak around the guys. So you'll have to listen to what she is bragging about during the few weeks before the holidays so you'll know what the hottest sport of the week is.

Right now, believe it or not, motor cross is in pretty big, especially with the girls. I wouldn't suggest running out to buy her that dirt bike that she has been eying, but you can hook her up with some gear. Get her a Fox Racing hoodie, or anything that is motor cross related. The sport is really hip right now, so you almost couldn't go wrong with anything with a Fox logo. Ricky Carmichael is the hippest dirt bike racer, so anything that has his name on it will strike your tomboy as fashionable. However, if she does have a dirt bike of her own, get her some protective gear for it. Elbow pads, knee pads and gloves never go out of fashion if you are safety conscience. And if your kid rides a bike, you'd better have these things on hand.

Any kind of sporty clothes would be great, as long as it's sporting some kind of logo. Quicksilver, Roxy, O'Neill are really good brand names, as well as DC Shoes. But if you aren't quite sure which of these logos' to nab, you might want to stop before you buy. Most of these brands are not cheap, but you can still get good deals if you look hard enough. Or, you can get her a gift card (teens love these) to any of the above mentioned websites, or for just the mall, a sports store, or somewhere like Pacsun. If she is into gaming, that's even easier! You can get her favorite video or computer game anywhere!

A magazine subscription may also be a good bet for your tomboy, something like Sports Illustrated might be too adult, depending on her age, but anything sports-centric would be good. Also team memorabilia is great, hook her up with a jersey from her favorite basketball or football team. If all else fails, get her some hoodies. No girl can resist these, especially with a logo supporting her favorite team or sport. Or better yet, I'm sure she would have no problem making you up a wish list, and even give you directions to the nearest mall!
