ALT-2 Children are a Gift
I must agree, children are a gift. The very best gift that you will ever be blessed with in your life.
I will never forget the magic and wonder that I felt the first time I held my newborn daughter in my arms. It was the purest form of love to ever fill my heart. I never knew I could love a little life so much. From that moment onward she became the center of my world. Every single day with her is magic. I cannot wait to see her toddle out of the bedroom each morning and give me her pearly white smile. Then her little voice will chime forth with a 'hi'. Such a simple word but it warms my heart beyond belief.
I'm lucky to be a stay at home mom so I try and make the most of each second with her. I love to get down and play with her. She has a doll house that we spend hours setting up together. She knows where each piece goes and directs me to the set up. Its so sweet and enduring. Or she will pile her baby dolls into my lap and we will brush their hair. But the big thing for her is her books. She gathers up all her books and brings them to me. This is no easy task because she owns a LOT of books. Then she will crawl up in the the chair and snuggle next to me and I will read to her while she points excitedly at each picture. Its the best experience in the world.
In less then two weeks I'm expecting the birth of our son. I know that when I hold him I will feel the same way that I did on the day that I held my daughter for the first time. There is always enough love to go around. As a parent your heart just naturally makes more and more love. So he will be our second most precious gift that God has granted us. I cannot wait to look at him for the first time.
I just cannot stress how much children are a gift. They are the best gift in the whole world. I haven't always had an easy life. I've lost several people who I loved to death and times have been hard on occasion. But when I look back on all of that I realize that God waited to give me the best things in my life. And those gifts that He has entrusted me with and given me are my children. There is truly nothing in the world that is better.
