ALT-2 Agloco Paid to Surf Program
During the ecommerce boom of the late 1990's, companies such as All Advantage and Spedia came about which paid consumers to download a program which would display advertisements on the users computer and also pay them to refer other people to the program. After the crash of internet companies in mid 2000, their venture capital dried up and the companies were just not able to make enough money from their advertisers, probably because people who would accept $1.00 an hour to surf the internet probably did not have a lot of disposable income and the advertisers weren't seeing the returns they would like, but a new company hopes to use a modified version of All Advantage's business plan to become profitable.
The company is called ALGOCO, and they are hoping to have 10,000,000 members by July of 2007! They are also The company states that for every five members that you refer, you will almost double your income, it seems that this program will be quite lucrative. Essentially with the program, you will download a program which displays a bar of advertising on your computer and you will get paid a percentage of the revenue they make through their advertising.
Surfing with their advertising bar might make you a bit of money, but the real money is in referring your friends. You will get a percentage of the amount of money that your referrals make, as well as their referrals, the referrals of their referrals, and so on to 4 levels down the line. If you can get your referrals to refer quite a few people, this will become a nice source of secondary income for you.
Another strange thing about this company is that they will be giving 100% of their stock to their users! The stock will be distributed when it goes public. ALGOCO will make their money by taking a 10% fee on all revenue collected through the advertising bar. Each member will get a certain number of shares based on how many people they refer and how much they earn.
This is a completely new business venture that's far off the beaten path, so it's unknown what the future prospects of the company are. If the project is successful, it will be hailed as a marketing and economic success, but often times new web companies make a lot of big promises which never pan out as they would hope. Time will tell whether ALGOCO will be everything it's claimed to be!
