ALT-1 Worst Valentines Day Gift Ideas
Guys, Valentine's Day isn’t just for the cheesy couples, every girl deserves something special on Valentine’s Day. Just a little something to say, “you’re special” or “I’m thinking of you.”
Sometimes it’s not easy to buy for your gal on V-day so here’s some advice on what not to give her on Valentine’s Day.
Don’t give her anything that could hurt her feelings like – cooking classes, makeup lessons, or weight loss sessions. Cooking classes say she can’t cook, makeup lessons tell her she needs help looking prettier, and weight loss sessions make her think she’s overweight.
On that note, if you want to give her clothes make sure you positively know her size – the worst thing you can do is make her think she looks larger than she really is (when in doubt get a size small).
Finally, if you want to give her something in a small, velvet box… there better be a ring inside!
Never ever, ever give a girl a small velvet box (the perfect size for a ring) unless you plan to give her a ring. Earrings just don’t cut it when she’s expecting something else, like a proposal.
Some Twitter and Facebook users offered their worst Valentine's Day gifts they've ever received. Those included "nothing," "an electric toothbrush," "a poem that my date wrote just for me which turned out to be the lyrics to 'I Can't Fight That Feeling Anymore," "a breakup email" and "nothing because my birthday was the day before, he told me I already got my gift." Guys and gals, don't take after these dates! Find something meaningful, think it through before you gift if.
Some better options for gifts include movies on DVD, the full set of her favorite book series in hardback, any jewelry (just remember the small velvet box rule above), spa packages, and even a romantic dinner cooked by you would be perfect. (If you need help check out Omaha Steaks.)

And if buying a gift really makes you sweat, gift cards make great gifts for anything, even Valentine’s Day. Restaurant gift cards are a unique way of foreshadowing where you'll be taking your date for the evening. Wrap up, put it in a box, or just decorate the envelope! If you want to really be creative attach it to another gift like a hat, inside a handbag, in a pair of shoes, inside a book, or in a pair of socks!
