The holidays are a great time of year; people enjoy shopping, decorating, eating and of course, watching the Super Bowl. It may be hard to believe, but there are things to do other than yelling at the football players during the big game.
This article is going to look at some alternative ideas of things to do instead of watching the Super Bowl.
- Movies
Whether it is a black and white classic, a modern day action thriller or animated favorites, movies never go out of style. There is a guaranteed movie out there for just about everyone. Movies are fun to watch alone, or with a crowd. Break out the popcorn and sodas and settle in for a couple hours of fun.
- Party
No, not the Super Bowl kind of party. There are, believe it or not, many other types of parties. There are casual get togethers you can throw with food, drinks and music. Call friends and family and sit around and talk or play games.
- Try something new
Read a book, go somewhere you have never been, you could even try your hand at cooking a homemade meal. There are so many activities available to people, you will be be able to find something just as fun as watching the game.
- Start a project
Many people find working with their hands a fun and rewarding experience. You can do anything from woodworking to tinkering with an old car.
- Go outside
Many people enjoy fishing, skiing, camping, and hiking. You could even start up your own game of football with your friends. You could get a group of friends together and go on a hunting trip. Any of these activities can be fun and even become a yearly tradition for you and friends and/or family.
Some people may not be able to picture themselves doing anything else during Super Bowl time besides watching the game. Many people look forward to throwing a great Super Bowl party, complete with themed foods and beverages and cheering for their favorite team. There is nothing wrong with watching the big game, however, there is also nothing wrong with trying something different. Perhaps you have a mate or friends that do not share your passion for the game, try doing something with them instead.

The biggest thing is weather conditions, check your local weather forecast if you are thinking of going somewhere. Do not make the mistake of just taking off on a whim.
