Emergency situations might happen at anytime and anywhere. It is very scary when our car stops working in a very dark place or we see a car crash where the people got wounded. There are some things that we must carry in our car so we would be prepared for these kinds of emergency situations.

In some countries, you must carry a med kit in your car at all times. If it is not obligatory in you’re the country that you reside to carry a med kit in your car, you should. You might think that you are not a doctor and you won’t be using those things in the med kit but you never know. You might witness a car accident and there might be need for your med kit.

Sometimes we see cars that are burning at the side of the road and even the driver have a fire extinguisher in his hands, he can’t use it. This is because they have an empty fire extinguisher. Always keep your fire extinguisher full and ready.

It is very important to have your cell phone in the car but you must have a cell phone charger in your car. We sometimes forget to charge our cell phone and the charger will be there for us when the battery of our cell phone is about to die.

Not many people carry road maps but you never know when you might need it. We all sometimes get confused or get lost and during those times, the road map will be your best friend.

You should carry two kinds of flashlights in your car. A flashlight that you can plug in your car cigarette lighter and another one that works with batteries. The car battery might be dead and the flashlight that you plug into the cigarette lighter won’t work.

You always should have two rectangular reflectors in your car. You never know when you need to stop at the side of the road for an emergency and you somehow need to alert the other drivers. Put one reflector at the front of your car and one at the back. But never put them very close to your car. They should be placed at least 100 meters away from your car.

We usually don’t carry a snow chain in our car; especially when we are living in a place that never snows. However we should always keep snow chain present in our car.

People usually realize that there is an emergency situation when they see a flare and at night they can be seen for a long distance. Have at least two flares in your car.

Always have a paper or an ID in your car where it writes your blood type. I hope it won’t but if you have an accident, the paramedics can see that paper and alert the hospital to ready the blood type that you need.

You should always keep your spare tire inflated and have a wrench and a car jack in your car. It is awful when you have a flat tire and do not have a wrench and a jack.

If an emergency situation arises at night, try to stop at a place where there is a street light and call police. Your safety comes first and never goes out of your car until you feel it is safe to go out. You might have all these things in your car but never had the chance to use them. It doesn’t mean that you won’t need them and do not take them out of your car.
