ALT-1 Valentines Day Ideas

From 3arf

Now it’s a known fact, girls are more emotional. Girl’s minds are much more complex than a guys mind. We think of possibilities and the future. Guys are here and now. This is why many guys have such a hard time finding that perfect gift for Valentine's Day. February 14 is a day for some girls to see how much their boyfriend really knows them. It’s a day to find out if he actually listens when you’re talking his ear off on the phone. To most women, who have a deep attachment or love for a man, as cliché as it is, get her something sentimental. Don’t get her something. Make her something. You could be the absolute least creative person on the planet, but if you put time into it and try, even if its ugly, she will know you did your best to do something nice for her on a special day.

Here are a couple of ideas that would be a great gift from the heart that she’d never forget.

-          An attribute book

An attribute book is truly from the heart, but be warned, it is time consuming. Not ideal for a last minute gift. It is basically a scrapbook anywhere from 4-10 pages. Each page has a different quality that she possesses that makes you love her. Use pictures of her, or of both of you. Let these pictures have something to do with the quality on that page. For example: if you have a picture of her laughing, sticking her tongue out, jumping or anything of that nature, those would be perfect for a ‘Silly’ page. And so on. Use cardboard for the cover and back (or anything that is tough enough to be a cover, and can easily have 3 holes down the side). Decorate them with paper, paint, inside jokes, and memories between the 2 of you. Make them personal. Be as deep or as playful as you want to be with this book. You can bind it with string, rope, binder rings, anything you can make work. She is bound to love this gift and keep it for years and years.

-          A collage.

Gather up some of the best pictures of you and your girlfriend, or wife. Have glue, and tape on hand. You can put the collage on a plain sheet of paper, a corkboard, anything that will hold the items. Much like the attribute book, find memories: movie stubs, something you’ve found together on a walk or out and about, something of hers she left in your car or house, perhaps some sort of inside joke. You could even buy some beads to put on it (depending on her style). There are turquoise beads, heart beads, pearl beads, tribal beads, glass beads, etc. Maybe even some ribbon.

Choose enough pictures to cover about 75% of the paper, but spread them out and glue them at different angles. Use the memories or inside jokes you found and glue them sporadically, but neatly on the paper, on or around the photos, etc. (Don’t be afraid to let the pictures touch the other stuff. That’s what makes it cute.) You can find small squares, circles, or ovals of glass at craft stores. Be creative and use one or two on the pictures over you and your love’s face. She can hang it on her wall proudly and know her boyfriend spent valuable time making this gift everything he could.

Either of these gifts would make her heart jump. Men stop putting as much emotion into a relationship after a certain point, so your sweetheart will be elated that she got the early part of your relationship again, when it was all romance and puppy love. Cook her dinner, take her out to her favorite restaurant, or a nice place she’s always wanted to go. At the right time pull out her gift and watch her smile like a child as she opens a gift from your heart.
