ALT-1 Tips for a Great but Low Budget Wedding

From 3arf

You only get married once, typically, and you want your special day to be one you will never forget. It is tradition that the father of the bride pay for the wedding expenses, however some people just can barely afford their monthly expenses. There are many ways you can make the day beautiful without taking out a loan on your house.1) Make your own wedding invitations.* You can design many online and email them to save on postage.* You can buy beautiful paper at Wal-Mart or a low cost super center and just a few packs of stickers. You design them at home, (you can put in keywords and look on websites for ideas.) Print them out, seal them with a sticker, flip them over and putt the mailing address, no envelope needed.2) Buy disposeable cameras and sit them at the tables. I did this at my wedding, and I have the most unbelievable snapshots from all directions!3)Many floral shops trim their flowers and throw away petals, you could ask them to save that for you for the flower girls. This would be low cost or no cost for you.4) Use nature. Have the wedding some place where you do not have to decorate and can merely use the scenery surrounding you. I was married on a gazebo at a lake. Behind us, people were boating, jet skiing, enjoying life, it was beautiful. I couldn't have dreamt of a better backdrop!5) I live in the south, so it kind of goes without saying, everybody pitches in. Allow your guests to bring a side dish if they offer. We had finger foods at my wedding, instead of a grooms cake, we had banana pudding, there was plenty of every thing to go around!6) Ask others for suggestions, alot of my friends and family jumped into help me out with ideas.7) Since my wedding was outside, the women wore simple sundresses that we already owned and were barefoot, the men wore shorts, my flower girls were too little to understand what was going on so we bought them fairy wings (you can get these at the dollar store) and called them butterflys. It was beautiful and different, also. You can also check out web sites, get books, rent movies, there are so many unlimited options out there. If you wanted to, you could just go to the justice of the peace which in most cases is just the cost of the marriage license and fees according to the state you plan to marry in.Good Luck! I hope it is a beautiful memory to last a lifetime!
