ALT-1 Survey Sites how to Avoid Scams
With the current economic climate being what it is, there are more and more people who are trying to figure out ways to earn a little bit of extra money to supplement their incomes. Maybe they are trying to save for something that they couldn't otherwise afford, maybe they just need a little extra spending cash, or maybe they can't seem to make the money quite stretch as far as the month is. Whatever the reason, if this sounds like you, there's great news!
Online survey sites are a way for those who like to work on the computer, from the comfort of home, voicing their opinions and seeing new products and services ahead of everyone else, to see a few extra bucks here and there. These sites won't make you a millionaire, but they will give you a bit more cash for your wallet. Unfortunately, there are some sites that promise things that they just don't deliver. Nobody likes to be scammed and feel like they were foolishly taken advantage of, so here are five rules to adhere to when looking for survey sites to join that will keep you from being taken for a terrible ride!
Rule #1-If they ask you to pay a fee, no matter how small, to sign up, look elsewhere. You are going to be providing a service for them, not the other way around. Why would you ever pay someone to work for them?
Rule #2-You don't need a service that will direct you to paying survey sites. Many of these services will be the ones that are charging a fee, so avoid them as well as the actual sites themselves. You can easily find the sites on your own by simply doing a search for "survey sites" or "online survey sites that pay". The sites will have their own pages, in addition to the many articles that you can find written about this very topic by the people who use them.
Rule #3-If you join a site that asks you to sign up for services for a trial membership and be reimbursed plus earn a little extra, be sure that you read all of the fine print. Many people end up getting charged a lot of money if they don't cancel the service in a timely manner. Of course, there may be some that you really want to keep, but if not, cancel before the end of the trial. It is a good idea to print out the complete agreements and place sticky notes on them regarding the trial period and how to cancel.
Rule #4-Be sure that you sign up for a PayPal account, if you don't already have one. Many of these sites will pay via PayPal and if you don't have an account, you won't be able to collect your earnings.
Rule #5-Don't get discouraged if you get disqualified from some of the surveys. It might take a while to get you matched up with one that you can complete to the end. The best thing that you can do is to complete all of the profile questions that the site offers so that they can match you up with the ones you are most likely to qualify for. This will save you a lot of time in the long run, even if it takes a while at first.
