ALT-1 Stunts how to Turn them into a Career

From 3arf

Stunts have the purpose of hyping things up to catch peoples attention. They can also be used to add realism to a video, show, concert, and most commonly, movies.

The first thing one needs to consider is how to deal with the pain. Most of the guys I know who did stunts were in the music business. Again, I have to mention Jesse Spurgin from Lessons in Necromancy because He's the one I'm the most familiar with. He had several injuries. His chest ex-rays look like a tank drove over him. He has rifle stamps on his rib cage, pistol whip marks, Dents, and his forearms and shins feel like saw blades. But you can't tell.

Some of these are from fights on the streets and in the military, Others are from stage diving and slam dancing. The messiah is one where you swan dive off of the stage into the crowd and the snatch you out of mid air, with as many hands as possible and pull you down to the concrete and there fists all smash down on you like an imploding flower. It looks wicked on film. And there's the snuff-knot which is basically the same thing. Not to mention getting hit with guitars, Twisted arms and other things that happen when things get crazy.

Jesse does't take pills. He doesn't take anything. He just waits for the pain to go away. Some times the doctors have to give you something at first. But your body will get used to making it's own pain killers. Especially if you start young. But if you take pain killers for every ache and pain then your body won't. Every once in awhile Jesse might take an aspirin if he gets a real bad head ache or something, But it's rare. He is basically pain free. But he gets groggy and listless some times. The only thing that seems to fix it is to take a lot of showers. But when he's groggy and listless, It's a lot easier to just take a nap or smoke another cigarette. He also had to quit drinking coffee because it started having the opposite effect on him. It was draining him. And he drank it all day long. So he has to fight all that to do his music and handle his affairs. But at the same time he doesn't seem to regret any of it much. It gives him something to hype up the crazy old days that he was actually apart of. Now he can just kick back and play his guitar and work on his business. So in that respect, it paid off.

If your going to be a stuntman the first thing you have to do is get tough, and actually, before that, try to find out if there is a market for the type of stunts you want to train into. If not, But you still want to, try to figure out a way to develop a market. Nothing is going to be easy. And make sure it's a type of stunt that you can live up to. Jesse avoids great heights. To much will give him vertigo.

So be sure to get ready to handle bumps, bruises, pride, and pain. and some way to handle it. If you can't, then a stunt man job isn't realistic for you.
