ALT-1 Research Tips for Finding the best Car for you
Over the years,I have dealt with many people in search of their next car.The motive for their search was always a major factor in the final outcome of their purchase. Some of the greatest mistakes in the purchase of their cars, involved the pressure of time.As a guideline, one should always consider the reason they are searching, along with an idea of what they absolutely require as minimum options.Factors I will point out include the following interests:
TIME- The more time you allow yourself, the greater chance you have of finding what you need.Never let a salesperson pressure your better judgment. Many times I have seen a car sold to someone because of the fear that it would be gone tomorrow.Do not be afraid to tell the salesman that you would like to sleep on it tonight and get back to him tomorrow;if he values you at all,he will honor your wise decision.
PRICE- Know your Limit! Look at taxes, title, insurance, delivery fees, and the length of payments, being certain that this car is in range for your income.Do not bank on overtime schedule income,or bonuses.
SAFETY-How does this car rate in crash safety tests? You and your family's safety should be considered. There are web sites now to check the ratings of your car safety.
VIN REPORT- For a fee,you can get a CARFAX report on the intended VIN(vehicle Identification number)of the car you have in mind. This report includes information such as collision/insurance claims including floods and bank repossessions.Use great caution on these issues,as they are often a prelude to impending, and costly problems.
EFFICIENCY- stay away from gas guzzler vehicles,if you do a lot of stop and go driving.Consider engine size, and transmission options related to fuel economy.
OPTIONS- Consider your needs for power windows, door locks, alarms, and audio/video/computer add-ons.Don't buy something out of impulse,do it out of necessity. Think about colors as well, black cars in a hot climate can become a future problem.
Sometimes the best car for you is the one you already own.If you are searching for a new car, because your old car is broke down, you are already stressed out.Ask yourself this primary question.
Do you like your car?
If yes, by all means, even a major failure can be less expensive to repair, than the new car you might not like.If you don't like your current car,by all means, search carefully, and ask the people in your community who to stay away from, believe me,they will let you know.
