There are several good reasons to send a thank-you card after a job interview. Sending a card showing your enthusiasm and gratitude will help you get noticed by the interviewer, as-well as reminding them about good attributes you have that may sway the interview process in your favor. A thank you card is recognition that you afford the interviewer respect, and are keen to hear from them.
Standing out from the crowd
Most decent jobs have many applicants, all attempting to bag the same position. It makes sense to give an interviewer extra reference material about yourself in this way, so your interview is remembered above others where people didn't bother with a thank-you card.
