ALT-1 Planning a Romantic Valentines Day at Home

From 3arf

Valentine's Day doesn't have to mean a fancy restaurant and a night on the town to be romantic. It can be just as if not more romantic if you plan to celebrate at home. While it is a given that it won't cost as much it doesn't have to be obvious.

Start by dressing your dinner table with a simple table cloth and some flowers. A single rose will do nicely. Now place a candle on either side of the rose. You will need some light to eat by. Candle light has a way of making you go awe.

Now make sure dinner is simple. As a general rule you want to avoid anything that may stay on your breath for obvious reasons. Be sure to chill a bottle of wine. Make sure you only have two places set at the table and you have removed any extra chairs. (You could also throw a blanket in the middle of the floor for a nice picnic for too.)

Put some soft music on in the back ground and make sure it repeats itself so you don't have to stop and restart it during dinner. Take your time and enjoy a nice conversation over dinner. (By now you have already changed into your best dress and he has changed into something resembling a suit for dinner.)

Now that dinner is finished you may consider dancing. You will want to have cleared room to dance before hand. You can dance for hours just the two of you.

Do the two of you like to watch movies together? You may want to get one of those old sappy love stories shown in black and white and watch it with them. Just the two of you snuggled up on the couch.

You may want to build a fire in the fireplace and sit down and have a picnic in front of it. Don't sit to close to the fire. Simply spread a blanket to sit on and pop open a bottle of champagne. The fire shouldn't be too hot and you want it to last for a few hours.

The possibilities of spending a romantic Valentine's Day at home are endless. Search your imagination and you will be able to arrange the perfect valentine day at home for your loved one. Make sure that you will have the house completely to yourselves before beginning to set up your Valentine's Day so you will not be disturbed.
