What would make mom really happy and make her feel special on Mother's Day? Firstly, I, as a mom, would love to be woken up on the day by my boys, all exited and shouting with joy "Happy mother's day", give me a hug and whisper "Mom we love you, you're the best!"
Then, if your children are old enough (or they can get some help from dad) surprise mom with breakfast-in-bed! Serve your food with style. Prepare in advance. For example, you can buy a new colourful tray or a mug with a special message for mom (or with her photograph imprinted on it), and include a vase of flower (a single flower would do the job).
They can lavish her with gifts or invite her out for lunch, to a movie, or any other family outing after all she is a "mom" in the first place because of her children! So, I love to celebrate this special day with them (seeing them happy, makes me happy) the only difference is that they will have to do all the planning and preparation!
Get her that card with that special message. Shop around and I am sure you will find the right card just made for her.
If you are artistic, you could create your own card, you can either make the drawing yourself (use plenty of colours) or use cuttings and colourful paper. A simple heart or flower would do..and write a small poem or phrase..the words "Mom you're special, I love you very much!" would mean the world to me!
However, if your mom loves to receive gifts, there is plenty out there which you can buy for her:
