ALT-1 Memories of Thanksgiving Parades

From 3arf

Memories of Thanksgiving parades as child to an adult hold many a Thanksgiving feast and the joy of watching a parade, the sounds, the marching bands along with the floats as my heart longed be in a parade or in the crowd with cheers as each passing sight comes by with wide eyes of delight ,just like child whose eyes are bright are of wonder.

The television set was not as large than as they are of today. Watching the parade while mom cooked as child. As a teenager going to someone's home and watching the parade. As an adult Thanksgiving parades became more "live!" standing on sidewalk taking photos of the floats, the marching bands as my heart leaped fully with the excitement of the sounds of the music as well as the beauty of the floats that passed by.

We have Holiday Parades here in Madison, Wisconsin. My wife and I attended a few of them in the past. Before I was married I would enjoy a parade whenever a friend and I would watch from his mother's room on the 9 floor at the Y.W.C.A. What an awesome site ,no worries if somebody's head was in the way or walking pass the camera lens. Just aim, shoot and lock-in on the sites an sounds of "I love a parade!"

Now, I am older, do things differently. When at home start cooking the turkey and the fixings. Catch a glimpse of a float or two or a marching band. While the turkey is roasting, try to relax for a little while to watch the parade especially the Rose Bowl Parade, Real flowers glued to beautiful floats of scented flowers of all kinds fills the air like a scented breezeYou smell the aroma in the air as the sounds of blaring out a tune. Oh!, what it would like if I was in California. Macy's Thanksgiving Parade live from New York is good to. Even Disney's Parade is fun to watch, one problem there is to much chatting and not showing enough of the parade along with Mickey and Minnie and all the gang.

Do I still love a parade? Yes! Even more so than the games being played between Christmas and New Years. Maybe can't shout as loud, nor walk those long miles. I was in a parade for a local event at Verona, Wisconsin. My wife sat on the float, I chose to walk the mile and half along with some others passing candy out to the kids along the way , couldn't keep up , fell way behind from the group I was in, finally caught up, but everyone thought I was lost.Deep in my heart and still get excited watching or in a parade, I'm filled joy.

Oh!,I love a parade!Either on foot,Or on a floatThe people are cheering. The bands are playing. The heart beats to every beat. While marching upon my feet.Oh!, I love a parade!
